The Beautiful Whitsundays is made up of 74 island wonders. The Gateway to the “Whitsundays” is Airlie Beach approximately 750 kilometres south of Cairns on the Tropical Coast of North Queensland.
The 3 night Tall Ship sailing of the Whitsunday Islands aboard the 2 masted square rigged Tall Ship ‘Solway Lass’. Built in 1902 and with an overall length of 127 feet which makes it the largest Tall Ship sailing the Whitsunday Islands.
The large decks provide guests with plenty of room to move about and for those who would like a “Hands on” sailing trip, guests are invited to join in hoisting the sails and having a turn sailing.
Guests who prefer to just find their own deck space to sunbath, relax and take in the magnificent views of the Whitsunday Islands, as you sail by Whitehaven Beach, Hayman Island, Hook Island, Hill Inlet and Nara Inlet…one thing’s for sure, people sailing on other vessels in the Whitsundays will be taking photos of ‘Solway Lass’ as she sails by with square sails, jibs and mainsails set.
During your tour, snorkel the fringing Coral Reefs which extend right from the islands, swim, bush-walk to scenic lookouts, visit the magnificent Whitehaven beach.
While at anchor, try the Tarzan swing which is a very unique way to enter the water, relax out in the bow or enjoy an icy cold beer, sunset cocktails or wine from the fully licensed bar.

Whitsundays 4 Day Tall Ship Sailing Adventure Tour Itinerary
The tour starts with guests departing Airlie Beach on the glorious Tall Ship in the early evening to it’s overnight anchorage and enjoying a light supper before heading to your cabin to bed.
After your freshly made continental breakfast, we make way to Tongue Bay for a guided bush walk to Hill Inlet Lookout, which is a spectacular lookout over the majestic Whitehaven Beach. jumping back on board to enjoy a scrumptious lunch before heading around to the famous Whitehaven Beach to enjoy an hour on the beach to explore or relax, before setting sail and heading north along the Eastern side of Hook Island.
Overnight anchor in one of the many picturesque bays on Hook Island.
After Breakfast enjoy snorkelling on the fringing coral reefs which extend right from the edge of the islands.
These reefs are teeming with marine life and the experience is memorable for the snorkelling novice through to seasoned snorkellers.
Enjoy lunch, before sailing off to another anchorage for a second snorkel, swim or simply relax at the beach.
This evening will be spent anchored in Blue Pearl Bay of Hayman Island or in the Langford Reef Area. Both locations offer spectacular sunset photo opportunities as the Solway Lass is silhouetted against the sunset over the water.
Spend the day snorkelling, swimming and just having fun before setting sail across the passage returning to Abel Point Airlie Beach at 4:00 – 4:15pm.
